The Nissan Pathfinder has been a popular SUV since 1985, and the new 2016 model is no exception. The SUV has evolved since first becoming a favorite among American car buyers, and this SUV has kept up with the times. It rides with the civility of a sedan but maintains the brawn of a truck.

The Pathfinder's powerful 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine produces 260 hp at 6400 rpm and 240 lb-ft of torque at 2400 rpm. It is driven by a cutting-edge Xtronic CVT. Unlike traditional automatic transmissions that have a set number of gears, the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission uses a metal drive chain to transfer power from the engine to the wheels, providing the best balance of driving oomph and fuel economy. Front-wheel drive is standard and an All-Mode 4x4-i 4WD system is optional. And unlike with the drivetrain systems of traditional SUVs, with the All-Mode 4x4 Dial drivers have the option to choose 2WD, sending power just to the front wheels, or 4WD, sending power to both the front and rear wheels. Or drivers can choose Auto Mode and let the intuitive system make the right choices.

The premium interior was designed with driver and passengers in mind. With three rows of seats, seven people can be accommodated comfortably. And no one will have any difficulty getting in. The EZ Flex Seating System with Latch and Glide allows the second row seat to be moved easily for access to the third row. For even more passenger comfort, both second and third row seats recline. Depending the trim level, leather-appointed seats and door trim, front power-adjusted seats, and heated seats are available. Needs to carry a lot of stuff? The second and third rows can be dropped, creating almost 80-cubic feet of cargo space. And there is also an under-floor storage area to keep items out of view.

Technology is abundant and is easy to access with the touchscreen display on the dashboard. The available Tri-Zone Entertainment System allows everyone to enjoy their own amusement, be it music, a movie, a video game, or a laptop. Dual 7-inch DVD monitors with wireless headsets in the second row make this possible. Available USB ports and Bluetooth wireless technology make connecting additional devices a breeze. And when everyone wants to listen to the same thing, they can do so on the available 13 Speakers with Bose® Acoustic Waveguide technology. For important vehicle information, The Advanced Drive-Assist® Display is a 4.2 inch color monitor that sits in the gauge cluster. It can be customized to show data such as front and rear power ratios, the trip computer, tire pressure, fuel economy, temperature, and more.

Safety is a prime concern. Multiple airbags protect both driver and passengers. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System warns if the tire pressure becomes too low. It can even say which tire is low. The Easy-Fill Tire Alert beeps the horn when the tire is inflated to the correct pressure, preventing over-inflation. Other technological safety enhancements include Vehicle Dynamic Control, an Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist, and a Traction Control System.
